This is essentially what happened to me. FINALLY find what I'm looking for, and restraint went out the window. No regrets. Holding it in for so long got me the best possible match with my requirements.

That’s how I left the dealership with the Veloster.
Wanted this car for a long time, but was put off by terrible reviews and really bad test drive. Then the Rally Edition came out and just fulfilled the car’s full potential.
